Glimpses at Longing
Shimmers, shadows and jelly fish. Holding on while remembering to let go. What is it about the ephemeral? Fleeting moments of magic that make us recall the what for of the matter. How do you let someone go? A poetic exploration of that which we long to hold. Of the bittersweet experience of being alive. "Glimpses at Longing" becomes a visual metaphor for relishing the unique present moment. All the while simultaneously mourning its inevitable passing. The fragile surface of the film is damaged and scratched. The raw appearance creates a visceral feeling within. Created on Vashon Island, WA. This film was hand developed using compost and plant matter from an artist residency.
